Whenever I have to get take-out and use plastic cutlery I make sure to wash it and use it for as long as possible. I will try to keep a set with me when I can in the future.

Yesterday I made a point to not buy the granny smith apples from South Africa even though they looked better. I got the US grown ones instead because it took them less energy to get to the shelves.

Today I carpooled to an event, I didn't take the elevator going down at all (I'm on the fifth floor) and I walked to my boyfriend's place tonight.

I always make a point to put a lid on a pot of water I'm boiling so it will go faster. Simple, I know, but it can't hurt!

My coworker Elizabeth brought in a bag full of cloth bags and offered one to me. She's been sewing bags out of spare cloth for years and she says she's going to save the planet one bag at a time! What a great thing~!

Today I rescued some bottles & cans from my boyfriend's apartment and recycled them.

Today I used my travel mug and a napkin I saved from yesterday. I also let my hands air-dry rather than using a paper towel.

All week at my new job I have been ferociously making sure that all the cardboard is being recycled. Now I have to start on the bottles & cans!

I walked to the chiropractor today instead of taking my car. It took about a half hour each way.

Yesterday I used my travel mug at work and I used the same napkin all day.

I walked (rather than drove) to my boyfriend's place to check on the cat even though it was threatening rain.

Tonight as I left the mall (just as it was closing) there was a crazy glut of traffic leaving the parking lot. Instead of joining and adding to the wait (and emissions) I sat in my car with the windows open, just turned on the radio and knit for about 10 minutes while I waited for the cars to move on.

Today I got a pizza at a local pita place and asked to have it to go (but ate in) only because the eat-in plate is styrofoam and the to-go box is recyclable cardboard.

Today I used my travel mug and I made my own lunch & remembered to save the sandwich bag to reuse tomorrow.

Today I took the bus (rather than drove) downtown to go to the gallery and I remembered to bring my mug so I didn't have to get a disposable cup!

Today I chose to hang my laundry to dry.
